Think about the last original painting you stood in front of. Not a print in a hotel room, not an image on a phone. A real painting, with brushstrokes you could see.
For most people, that moment is rare. Not because they don't care about art, but because art lives somewhere they rarely go. Galleries are wonderful places, but they ask you to make a special trip, to feel at home in a quiet white room, and to be comfortable asking what something costs.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad is full of painters making remarkable work. Much of it sits in studios and living rooms, seen by friends and family and almost no one else.
Meet people where they are
ArtWhere starts from a simple idea: put original art where people already spend their time. The café you visit every Saturday. The restaurant you choose for birthdays. The hotel lobby where you wait for a meeting. The hospital corridor where you wait for news.
The best way to fall for a painting is to come across it when you weren't looking.
When a painting stops you, everything you need is on a small tag beside it: the title, the artist, the price, and a code to scan. If you love it, you can pay on your phone and take it home that day.
Fair to everyone who makes it possible
Every sale is shared. The artist receives 65%, the largest share by far, and keeps ownership of the painting until it sells. The venue that gave it a home receives 10%. ArtWhere's 25% covers curation, installation, rotation and payments. Some venues, especially hospitals, choose to give their share to a local charity.
Curated, because it matters
We choose every artist and every painting. Not to be exclusive, but because a venue trusts us with its walls and a buyer trusts us with their money. We'd rather hang six right paintings than twenty wrong ones.
Starting here
We're beginning in Hyderabad, with Hyderabad's artists, in Hyderabad's spaces. If you run a space, make original work, or simply want to be first to see where the walls are, we'd love you to be part of it.
