This policy explains how ArtWhere ("ArtWhere", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use artwhere.in, contact us, apply as an artist, enquire as a venue, or buy a painting. We process personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Venue enquiries: your name, role, venue details, phone number, email and anything you choose to tell us.
- Artist applications: your name, contact details, city, social or portfolio links, images of your work, prices, and details about your practice.
- Contact messages and the collectors' list: your name, email, phone number (if given) and message.
- Purchases: details needed to complete and record a sale. Payments are processed by our payment partner; we do not see or store your full card or bank details.
- Website usage: basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, if analytics is enabled.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry, review your application, or complete your purchase.
- To run partnerships with venues and artists, including statements and payouts.
- To send you updates you've asked for, such as the collectors' list. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep our website secure and understand how it's used.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Consent
We collect personal data through our forms only with your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us; this won't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us operate (for example, website hosting, email and payment processing), with a venue or artist where needed to complete a sale or partnership, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Unsuccessful artist applications are deleted within 12 months unless you ask us to keep them for future opportunities.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, or raise a grievance, by writing to hello@artwhere.in. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to stored submissions.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
